‘Stamped Parallels’ gave me the opportunity to screen print luxury wallpaper. The primary focus was architectural forms of plain buildings, allowing my designs to flow from a 3D style of drawing and continuing on with a geometric, bold approach from simplistic primary research. Through this use of design, I had the ability to deconstruct them through shape and pattern and reconstruct them to produce aesthetically pleasing wallpaper printed designs through screen print. The use of screen print allowed the experimentation for the wallpaper to include various high-end print finishes including micro-beads, metallic and gloss, giving the ability to change the surface quality of the paper and add a subtle change of perspective on traditional wallpaper.
Effectively using colour throughout this project, allowed me to portray it through print in a way I usually don’t. Blending bold colours with translucent binders so that when they are layered together new colours are formed.
